VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

Please read over the volunteer job descriptions below and if you can help, contact the Mason Homeschool Co-op DIRECTOR.

 

Field Trip Coordinator - position filled EMAIL THE FIELD TRIP COORDINATOR

Plans and organizes all field trips for Mason Co-op. This person is the primary contact point with all outside organizations and for all co-op people. She will have field trips approved by the co-op chair or president of the board then announce to the co-op at opening exercises. An initial e-mail may be sent through either the Co-op chair or the president. Then follow up e-mails are to be sent directly to the individuals going on the field trips.

She will negotiate prices with the outside organizations then communicate this to the co-op members. She will be responsible for collecting all of the funds necessary for each field trip.

Ideally there will be one planned trip per month during the months that the co-op is actively meeting.

The field trip coordinator is free to take advantage of all “perks” offered by organizations. This can include a free entry when everyone else has to pay or free parking, or other such perks.

Building Liaison - position filled EMAIL THE BUILDING LIAISON

Building Liaison will be the primary contact person for the facility at which the co-op meets. This person is whom the church (or other facility) would go to for information or contact. This person represents the church or facility only.

The Building Liaison will report to the Co-Op Chair or President on behalf of the church.

The Building Liaison makes no decisions or speaks on behalf of the co-op without written authorization from the Co-Op Board of Directors.

Pizza Day Coordinator - POSITION OPEN

This person will co-ordinate Pizza Day as frequently as the members of the Co-Op wish to have pizza. She is responsible for finding the pizza, negotiating the price, gathering a list of names, collecting money, and reporting to the treasurer.

Newsletter Coordinator - position filled EMAIL THE NEWSLETTER COORDINATOR

Provides a general newsletter to the members of the Co-Op on a basis of two times per semester or more. This will include announcements, class reports, family reports, anything that is of general interest to the Co-Op. Newsletter needs to be reviewed by Co-Op Director or President one week before submission to the members.

Website Coordinator - position filled EMAIL THE WEBSITE COORDINATOR

Maintains and updates the Mason Co-Op website. The website needs to have proper links, class schedules, Co-Op and CHEC-Mason forms available and easily accessible.

Program Coordinator - POSITION OPEN

The Program Coordinator with put together the end of semester programs – one time per semester. She will find a location and work with key teachers (drama, music, etc.) to determine a day and time. She will also put together a program that will include everyone who wishes to be included.

Fund Raiser Coordinator - POSITION OPEN

Fund Raiser Coordinator is responsible for finding fund raising opportunities for our Co-Op. These will then be presented to the Co-Op Director, President, or Treasurer and submitted to the board for final approval. The Board of Representatives must approve all fund raising opportunities.

Safety Coordinator - POSITION OPEN

Safety Coordinator will contact the officials needed to come into the Co-op to present a Safety Day. This needs to include at a minimum local police and fire departments.

Hospitality Coordinator - position filled EMAIL THE HOSPITALITY COORDINATOR

Hospitality Coordinator oversees the set up of the Chew and Chat area of the Co-Op for the moms. She will make sure that the supplies do not run low and is responsible for purchasing any supplies needed after verifying budget with the treasurer. She will make sure that moms sign up to bring in snacks for each week.

Opening Assembly Coordinator - position filled EMAIL THE ASSEMBLY COORDINATOR

The Assembly Coordinator will plan the announcement, praise and worship, and prayer portions of the weekly assembly.

Inventory Specialist - position filled EMAIL THE INVENTORY SPECIALIST

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining supplies and materials used in co-op classes.  She will make sure that supplies do not run low.  She will have authority to authorize or deny supply and material purchases made by teachers.  She will sign off on reimbursement requests from teachers before forwarding them to the treasurer.
